Library books are now equipped with radio frequency identification tags. This means that you can use the self-check station located near the elevators on the first floor to check your books out! After hours book drop
Books due? Library closed? No problem! Our after hours book return is located west of the Divarty St. entrance to the library, across from Asilomar Hall. When you place an item in the drop, please check to see that it has slid all the way down the chute. Items turned in overnight will be checked … full story
Quiet areas
Need a quiet place to study? The quiet areas in the library are:
Second floor: Quiet study living room at the east end.
Third floor: Archives reading room at the west end.
In the quiet areas, please set your cell phones to silent and refrain from having conversations with others. Also, remember that group study is allowed in … full story
Administrative Furlough Days
The Library will be open, but offering limited services on the following Administrative Furlough Days: September 25th, October 9th, November 6th and December 4th (all Fridays). New default password
An important message from IT@CSUMB: When you first get your OtterID, your default password is your date of birth in the format of the capitalized month, followed by the two-digit day and four-digit year. For example, if your birthdate was July 9, 1980, your password would be July091980.

Open Lab now in Rm. 1128
The open computer lab has moved from Room 2145 to Room 1128 between the “Ask a Librarian” desk and the IT Help desk. The lab will contain 30 Mac desktop computers that run Windows XP only, and will be available during regular library hours except when being used for library instruction sessions.

260 donated books so far
Thanks to our alumni and friends of CSUMB, we have 260 books in our collection purchased through the Alumni Book Drive. The goal of the book drive is 1000 books. CSUMB librarians have populated a wish list on Amazon with titles we would really like to add to our collection. This list is being refreshed … full story
